This router utilizes the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, 80 MHz bandwidth, and 1024-QAM modulation to boost total network speeds to 1800 Mb/s. With 2x2 MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, the RT-AX56U can deliver two dedicated upload/download streams per band, and pushes data to all connected devices simultaneously rather than in sequence.

Additional features include free lifetime security, mobile power saving technology, and AiMesh whole-home network support. This makes the RT-AX56U an ideal choice for a busy home with many devices, and a need for fast, stable wireless internet access.

Greater Coverage

As OFDMA sub-divides data for simultaneous transmission, it also divides channels into sub-channels. These sub-channels have a smaller bandwidth to enable them to travel farther throughout your home.

Power Saving

Using Target Wake Time (TWT) technology, the RT-AX56U can help preserve the battery life of your mobile devices. Rather than devices always being in standby mode, waiting for signals from the router, TWT schedules designated intervals for the devices to wake up and receive information. This ability lets mobile devices sleep, reducing power consumption.

Supports AiMesh Whole-Home Wi-Fi

With support for ASUS's AiMesh technology, the RT-AX56U can be combined with additional RT-AX56U routers, or other AiMesh-compatible routers and extenders, to fully blanket your home with powerful Wi-Fi signals. The connected mesh network gives you the ability to use a single SSID so you can roam your home with mobile devices without having to reconnect to different networks. It also lets you set up an SSID per band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) for more manual control of how your devices connect.
